Both trim levels have an impressive stack of premium features that they share.  The list is long, so we’ll share some highlights.  Similarities between the EX-L and Touring trim levels include:

Features Unique to the Touring Trim Level

With so many features shared between the EX-L and Touring trim levels, one may wonder how they differ.  They do, with the most significant difference being in technology or aesthetics.  Here are the unique features the Touring trim level offers that the EX-L does not, along with a short description.

 

  • CabinWatch Rear Seat Monitor – The overhead console-mounted camera provides front-seat occupants a view of the passenger in the rear seats.
  • CabinTalk – An in-car PA system. At the touch of a button, front-seat occupants can speak to rear-seat occupants through their headphones.
  • Advanced Rear Entertainment System – second and third-row passengers can enjoy entertainment independent of the front-seat occupants.  System includes a Blu-ray player, HDMI Interface, 10.2-inch Hi-Res screen, and two wireless headphones. The whole family can be entertained!
  • Parking sensors (front/rear) – sensors detect objects close to the vehicle and alert the driver.
  • 1 – 2.5 Amp USB charging port in the 3rd row
  • 115-Volt / 150-Watt Power Outlet (front)
  • Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with Voice Recognition and Honda HD Digital Traffic service – enhanced connectivity between the vehicle and the owner’s smartphone. It provides convenient features such as TPMS monitoring, door lock status, remote door control, emergency services notification, and stolen-vehicle tracking.
  • Integrated sunshades in the 3rd row – help keep the 3rd row passengers cool.

How do the Different Trim Levels Compare?

Honda Odyssey EX

The EX is the base trim for the Odyssey.  The engine and powertrain in the EX are the same as the other trims.  However, EX features don’t include:

  • Leather seating
  • Power tailgate
  • Homelink Remote System
  • Auto-dimming rear view mirror
  • Power front passenger’s seat
  • Power Moonroof
  • Acoustic glass

Honda Odyssey Sport

The Sport trim has all the features of the EX-L trim, with more of a focus on interior and exterior aesthetics.  Sport trim includes:

  • Black floor mats (vs tri-color)
  • Red interior ambient lighting
  • Body-colored door handles, side sills, and roof antenna
  • Gloss black side mirrors

Honda Odyssey Elite

The Elite trim level is the top trim for the 2024 Honda Odyssey.  Differences between the Elite trim and the trim level below – Touring – include:

  • Hands-free access power tailgate
  • CabinTalk in-car PA system works through speakers and headphones (vs only headphones)
  • 550-watt premium audio system with eleven speakers, including subwoofer
  • Multi-zone audio

How does Honda Odyssey Pricing Compare Between the Trim Levels?

As features increase from one trim level to the next, there’s also a price increase.  Starting prices for the different trim levels are (US prices):

  • EX – $38,240
  • EX-L – $41,310
  • Sport – $42,260
  • Touring – $45,500
  • Elite – $50,370

When is the Next Honda Odyssey Model Refresh?

Introduced in 2018, the current Honda Odyssey is part of the fifth generation of Odysseys.  There was a refresh for model year 2021. Discontinued in 2023 was the entry-level Honda Odyssey LX. Honda introduced no new features in 2024.  Rumor has it that there will be a model refresh for the year 2025.  We’re looking forward to what Honda has planned for their next new Odyssey.
