2024 Toyota Highlander Trim Levels
The 2024 Toyota Highlander has eleven – yes, count ’em! – eleven trim levels. From the entry-level LE all the way to the Hybrid Platinum. Each trim level builds on the previous trim options and conveniences. Standard on all trims (except hybrids) is the 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 265 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid models have a 2.5L inline-4 (I4) hybrid engine generating 243 combined net horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Plenty of power to get this midsize SUV moving down the road.
An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard for all gasoline engine models. The hybrid models deliver their power through a Continuously Variable Automatic (CVT) transmission. Front-wheel or all-wheel drive is an option on all trim levels, regardless of engine type.
LE
The 2024 Toyota Highlander LE trim may be the entry-level, but it’s nothing to scoff at. The LE provides a well-rounded package with a starting price of $39,120. The LE boasts 18-inch alloy wheels, all-LED exterior lights, and a power liftgate for convenience. Inside, occupants enjoy a comfortable ride with cloth upholstery, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and a three-zone climate control system. The infotainment system features an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone mirroring capabilities, complemented by a six-speaker audio system. Safety is a priority with the inclusion of Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, offering advanced driver-assistance features like frontal collision warning with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
Hybrid LE
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid LE trim level, priced at $40,720, builds upon the LE trim. It provides better fuel efficiency and additional features. This hybrid variant offers an EPA estimate of 36/35/36 mpg city/highway/combined for the Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) configuration. The Hybrid LE inherits the LE’s features, such as the 8-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ suite for advanced safety features.
Hybrid LE Nightshade
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid LE Nightshade, starting at $41,720, takes the hybrid efficiency and adds a touch of style and sophistication. Starting with the features in the Hybrid LE trim, the Nightshade edition introduces distinctive aesthetics, specifically black 18-inch alloys, black side mirrors, a black grille, and rear badging.
XLE
The 2024 Toyota Highlander XLE trim, starting at $42,270, brings a higher level of comfort and sophistication to the lineup. The XLE introduces upgrades such as leatherette upholstery for the first two rows and power and heated front seats. Second-row seating is captain’s chairs. This reduces seating capacity to seven but improves passenger comfort (my kids love ’em! More room for those long trips.) The XLE also features a power moonroof and a hands-free power liftgate for added convenience. Technological advancements include an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a HomeLink transceiver. The available wireless charging pad is a very nice addition.
XSE
The 2024 Toyota Highlander XSE trim, priced at $43,865, introduces a sporty and dynamic edge to the Highlander lineup. The XSE brings a bolder look to the Highlander with black 20-inch alloys, a black-out grille, black headlight inserts, black roof rails, and twin exhaust tips. The suspension has been sport-tuned to offer a more engaging and responsive ride.
Hybrid XLE
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE trim, starting at $43,870, is the same as the XLE trim but with the hybrid powertrain. This includes leatherette upholstery for the first two rows, power-heated front seats, and second-row captain’s chairs.
Hybrid XLE Nightshade
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE Nightshade, starting at $44,870, combines the Hybrid XLE trim features and the Nightshade aesthetics. This includes black 18-inch alloys, black side mirrors, roof rails, a black grille, and rear badging.
Limited
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Limited trim, starting at $46,375, is a step up from the XLE trim. The Limited introduces chromed 20-inch alloys, a black grille with chrome surround, high-output LED foglights, and LED-strip daytime running lights (DRLs). The interior has heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery for the first two rows, and a heated steering wheel (forgot your mittens? No problem!) The Limited trim also features dual 12.3-inch displays and a booming 11-speaker JBL audio system.
Hybrid Limited
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited trim starts at $47,975. The Hybrid Limited takes the already luxurious Limited trim and enhances it with the hybrid powertrain. This trim has all of the premium offerings of the Limited, including chromed 20-inch alloys, black grille with chrome surround, and high-output LED foglights.
Platinum
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Platinum trim, starting at $49,575, represents the pinnacle of luxury and performance in the Highlander lineup. Above and beyond the Limited trim, the Platinum introduces an adaptive front lighting system, a panoramic glass roof, and an opening front power moonroof. Inside, second-row captain’s chairs are now heated. There’s a surround-view camera system, and the digital rearview mirror is camera-based. The Platinum trim also provides a 10-inch color heads-up display.
Hybrid Platinum
The 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum trim, starting at $51,175, combines the hybrid powertrain with the top-of-the-line Platinum trim level. This trim retains all the luxury features, including the adaptive front lighting system, panoramic glass roof, opening front power moonroof, heated second-row seats and a surround-view camera system.
